Composers and Musicians

thu 5 jun 2025 12:00 hrs

If you ask the music makers, composers and musicians in our country, what music should everyone really have heard at least once? The music section of the podcast Muziekmakers Der Nederlanden.

Episode 7: composer Maxim Shalygin (1).

In honour of the Day of the Composer (21st of June), composer Maxim Shalygin (originally from Ukrain) has been named composer-in-residence of The Hague. In this episode, he talks about which music he’d like to play to everyone on that day – and about his choice of works that have influenced him until this now.

The entire interview with Maxim Shalygin is available in the podcast Muziekmakers der Nederlanden – a series of podcasts that portrays makers, composers and musicians in The Netherlands by means of their ‘desert island discs’. They talk about music that plays an important part in their work and life and that they’d like to share with the world.
