Duke’s Singers
Not many band leaders of jazz orchestra were so eager to work with vocalists as Duke Ellington was: in his entire career more than 50. With some he only worked once, but often a vocalist (most of them women vocalists) would stay for several years, being his ‘canary’ as he called them.
