Théodore Dubois
(1837-1924)
‘Mélodies’ Théodore Dubois . His music included many religious works, two ballets, four oratorios, seven chamber works, 14 orchestral works (including three symphonies) and just under 100 songs. The larger part of his music is not in use anymore. His Toccata in G for organ does seem to remain a repertory piece. He had a lasting influence on teaching, with his six theoretical works on counterpoint and fugue and on harmony, still in use today. And his songs? Just listen!
