The first of two programmes featuring Beth Custer,
American (bass) clarinetist, composer, singer, and bandleader Beth Custer is based in San Francisco, from where she makes waves in the Bay Area. We managed to secure her for Acoustic Moods, where Ton Maas interviews her about her music. She moves with equal ease in jazz circles as she does among trip-hoppers and dance enthusiasts who feed on ethno-trance beats. But 1920s retro music and funk are also popular stylistic devices. In addition to her own work, she also frequently composes for theater, film, and dance.
In short: too much for just one hour…. So we decided to make not one but two programmes with her about her music.
The first programme will air on Monday August 25 2025, at 21:00 CET in Acoustic Roots. The second programme will air in Acoustic Moods at its usual time, namely on the fifth Friday of the month, which this month is August 29, 2025, at 21:00 CET.
