Chamber Music by Rita Strohl
In this edition of An Early Evening Stroll, we explore the music of Rita Strohl (1865–1941). A composer and pianist, Strohl was well known and highly regarded in her day by fellow composers such as Camille Saint-Saëns and Gabriel Fauré. Although her music later fell into obscurity, it is now receiving renewed attention. We’ll listen to her Cello Sonata Titus et Bérénice, Chanson d’automne and Piano Trio No. 1 in G minor.
