Those Who Walk Away is sound artist Andrew Patton. This Afterlife Requiem is a requiem for Jóhann Jóhannsson and includes, in the Memorial Environments, unfinished fragments of Jóhannsson’s music found on a hard drive after his death. The five parts featured in this broadcast make up roughly half of the album.
Paul Schütze’s The Rapture of Metals contains ambient music full of gamelan-like sounds, combined with microtonal and sometimes dissonant elements. This is the 21-minute closing track of the album, and it is its most static piece.
With more than 250 albums since 1982, Steve Roach’s work presumably needs no further introduction. His major influences were Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Vangelis, but Roach’s own body of work has since become a classic in its own right.
