American singer-songwriter John Gorka gave several concerts in the Netherlands at the end of last year and also released a new album. In two programmes on the Concertzender, you’ll hear one of those concerts, songs from his new album, and we’ll look back at his debut forty years ago.
John Gorka has been well-known in the acoustic folk world since the 1980s. He toured extensively throughout those years, both in his own country and in Europe, building a loyal audience with his husky yet powerful baritone voice and powerful lyrics.
In Concertzender Live on Friday January 16th at 22:00 CET we’ll broadcast a live recording of his concert at Cloud Nine at Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht.
A week earlier, on Friday January 9th at 19:00 CET, programme maker Marius Roeting presents an episode of DiscCover focusing on Gorka’s debut album from some forty years ago and his latest album, Unentitled.
