In the Jazz ‘National Vocal’ category, the Edison goes to the Idema / Serierse Quartet for the album Serenade in Blue.
Highlights from the jury report:
Intimate and atmospheric. The quartet led by guitarist Gijs Idema and vocalist Anna Serierse keeps its interpretations of American Songbook classics beautifully understated—and fresh. The music leaves plenty of breathing room, providing the ideal setting for Serierse’s clear voice, which captivates with its gentle warmth. Pitch-perfect yet fragile and moving—and, above all, deeply intimate.
