The Queen Elisabeth Competition is an international competition for classically trained musicians between the ages of 18 and 30, which takes place every year in May, alternating between piano, cello, voice and violin. In 2025, the competition was for piano.

The finale, in which twelve pianists participated, took place from 5 May to 11 June. The laureates were accompanied by the Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Kazushi Ono.

The finalist played an unpublished compulsory work and a concerto of their choice for the finale.

The next Queen Elisabeth Competition will be for cello and will take place in 2026. Entries for the cello competition will be in November 2025.

In this episode of Concertzender Live we will hear performances by Nikola Meeuwsen, Jianxin Min, Masaya Kamei and Wataru Hisuasue.
