#543: Echo Chamber of the Woosphere
Aja Ireland is an award-winning sound and performance artist making deconstructed club and industrial techno.
This radio piece explores the evolution from the Noosphere (the 20th-century vision of a unified global consciousnes() to the fragmented, chaotic Woosphere of today.
100 years ago, scientists imagined a world where human intellect would merge into a divine, collective intelligence. But instead of enlightenment, we’ve entered a gamified reality of chaosmosis—where misinformation moves faster than light, truth bends to algorithmic influence, and quantum woo shapes belief systems.
Through an immersive sound composition, Aja sonified the Woosphere—capturing the dissonance between utopian aspiration and digital-era confusion. Much of the material was recorded in the WORM electronic studio.

2. Rumbling For Peace
8th May 2025 was marked in the UK as the 80th Anniversary of VE Day–“Victory in Europe”. The plan was to meet that evening at the Soundart Radio studio, and make some noise on behalf of the cause of peace everywhere. As we gathered to cook and eat together beforehand, we accidentally set off the fire alarms and disrupted the peace for everyone around. This set the tone for the improvisation that followed. Featuring Hessel Veldman, Nicole van der Veen, Sam Richards, Phil Harrison, Kerry Priest, Shelly and Otto Love, Lucinda Guy, Chris Booth and probably some others. Produced by Hessel Veldman for Soundart Radio.
