On October 23, 2024 the second re-release of the famous ‘Simultan’ came out; a “kybernetisches Projekt für Räume (Studiofassung)”, as the original description calls it. It is work of Roland Kayn, the composer originally born in Germany but passed away in The Netherlands in 2011. Originally this album was released on the German Colosseum label, it was once again the Italian Die Schachter that made the expensive collectors object available for people with less financial resources.
The CD box set contains 3 discs with 2 compositions each. All the compositions clock in at about 40 to 45 minutes. It was typical for Kayn to create long evolving works. Works in which the listener could lose themselves in the abstract world of his musical spirit, sometimes leaning towards an “extraterrestial experience”.
“Simultan” was the first in a series with the name Kybernetische Musik, a description that a whole string of follow-ups would get.
