Electronic Frequencies

An abstract journey through unbound, often wordless soundscapes, shaped as a sequence of audio montages. Here, field recordings of existing locations are combined with fully electronically generated sonic environments. A major part of CD2 consists of sound excerpts from the WDR studio’s international Metropolis series, in which world-renowned media artists and composers were commissioned to sketch their sonic vision of modern global cities. In addition to the sounds of physical cities and nature, the CD also explores the “Topography of a SoundMind”: abstract compositions that translate the human inner world and psychological architecture into sound.
