‘Acid Nostalgia’ is the term Lawrence English uses to describe the exploitation of nostalgic feelings for political ends, by omitting unwanted details. This theme has made “The Rest Is My Ghost” a rather dark and heavy album – and perhaps that is precisely why it is so impressive.
Thomas Köner’s sound art can certainly be described as impressive too. The aptly titled Unerforschtes Gebiet (uncharted territory) was released in 2002.
Releases by Frans de Waard rarely come alone, and always under various names. Modelbau’s ‘Disabuse Transmission’ dates back to 2021 but recently appeared on the album ‘Muster’. It is dedicated to the Ukrainian people suffering as a result of the war.
