This episode will give you recordings from the 1920s and 1930s featuring four legendary and highly diverse pianists.
We start off with Ferrucio Busoni (pictured) a prelude and fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach, followed by Vladimir de Pachmann with a nocturne by Frédéric Chopin; Josef Hofmann as the soloist in Anton Rubinstein’s Fourth Piano Concerto; and Benno Moiseiwitsch performing Franz Liszt’s arrangement of Wagner’s Tannhäuser Overture.
