Imaginary traditions.
Trombone player Alain Gibert (image) used the folk music from his native region to start a musical dialogue with three other jazz musicians and made the album Chariot d’Or – L’Auvergne Imaginée. Guitar player David Golek and singer Simin Tander (picture below) went even beyond that and made up an imaginary tradition that they performed at Folksongs from Another Land.
