Today on The Last Century, we’ll listen to Lutosławski’s Livre pour Orchestre and the Second Symphony for string orchestra by American composer John Corigliano.
Although the two works are very different, they share a high degree of expressiveness and lyricism. Each in its own way, they place a strong emphasis on tone colour, texture and form.
