Chamber music by Antonín Dvořák, his unsurpassed serenade for wind instruments. Pairs of woodwinds and three horns, complemented by a cello and a double bass. Light-hearted music with a strong Bohemian character, performed by a distinguished line-up of world-famous wind and string players who gather each year for the Spannungen Festival in Heimbach, in the Eifel region in Germany. This results in concerts and recordings of exceptional quality. In addition, we will also listen to a piano trio by the Czech master, composed shortly after the death of his daughter. The score is not only sorrow and misery — there are some moments when sunshine breaks through. All is in the capable hands of the renowned English Florestan Trio.
