In this episode of Wereldminerals, you will hear the compositions of Jan Kadereit, played by the Balinese gamelan orchestra Salukat. This is followed by the Canadian composer Mychael Danna, who added gamelan instruments to a Western orchestra for the film The Ice Storm. And finally, you can listen to Nyi Cendani Raras. She sings a 900-year-old piece from the Javanese court gamelans.
And we start with Björk, with Indian tabla, and… a gamelan ensemble.
