An hour of music for violin and piano. You’ll hear leading musicians of our time. Violinist Antje Weithaas performs Dvořák’s Capriccio and his sonatina. Many have tried, but few have accompanied it as beautifully as Silke Avenhaus. In the Netherlands we primarily know her as Quirine Viersen’s partner. Josef Suk is also featured. He was the son-in-law of Dvořák, and his music deserves some attention.
In between you will hear the Skride sisters from Riga, who are conquering the world with their duo playing. They perform Grieg’s beautiful second violin sonata. Unknown is unloved, I would say, so make yourself comfortable and enjoy the music.
