Equally at home in jazz, hip-hop, electronic music and contemporary improvisation, he has developed a highly distinctive voice behind the drum kit—combining technical mastery, creativity and an unmistakable sense of groove.
Over the past decade, Peet has built a reputation as a musician who effortlessly bridges genres, bringing together the energy of modern beats with the depth and spontaneity of jazz.
Based in Amsterdam, he has toured internationally with Gregory Porter and Kris Bowers, Sasha Berliner, Seamus Blake and has performed with a wide range of acclaimed artists and ensembles, including Jameszoo, Y-OTIS, Dolphin Hyperspace, Niels Broos, Jasper Høiby’s 3Elements,Tin Men and the Telephone, and many others. His collaborations reflect a broad musical curiosity and a constant drive to explore new sonic territory.
Alongside his work as a sideman, Peet has increasingly stepped forward as a composer and bandleader. His acclaimed REFLEX project led to the release of Daily New Beginning, his first album of entirely self-composed music, featuring an outstanding quartet with Ben van Gelder, Pat Cleaver and Joel Ross. Whether performing in intimate settings or on major festival stages, Jamie Peet continues to push musical boundaries with intelligence, imagination and infectious energy.
